AT Peer Mentorship Program

The Peer Mentorship Program connects individuals receiving Assistive Technology (AT) support with trained mentors—people who also receive services from MARC and bring valuable firsthand experience. Our two dedicated mentors are deeply committed to helping others build confidence in using technology. Whether it’s communication devices, smart home tools, or tablets, they offer personalized, one-on-one support tailored to each person's unique needs. This peer-led approach creates a relatable and encouraging environment, making it easier to integrate technology into everyday life.

Meet the AT Mentors

Roy

Roy enjoys expressing himself through music and believes in the power of technology to make life easier. He often uses Alexa to kick off his workday and is passionate about showing others that technology doesn’t have to be intimidating. Roy enjoys walking his peers through tech step by step, reminding them that it’s perfectly okay not to get it right away. Outside of work, he loves playing the drums and diving into his favorite books. He’s also helped lead wellness events at MARC, Inc. when time allows. Roy’s warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine love for connecting with others make him a valuable member of the team.

Jacob

Jacob is passionate about technology and enjoys taking an active approach when mentoring, enthusiastically sharing tips and tricks for using smart home devices. Outside of his work, he volunteers weekly at his local library—a place he loves and often visits. Jacob also has a keen interest in photography and enjoys capturing the world around him through his camera lens. Occasionally, he shares his library highlights on Reddit, giving others a peek into one of his favorite places. His enthusiasm for mentoring and teaching makes him a valuable member of the AT initiative team.
