The VET program provides Vocational Skills and Independence sessions for individuals currently enrolled in our DSO programs. These sessions aim to help participants explore employment as a viable option by developing key skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, job retention, and more. Additionally, the sessions cover independence skills like activities of daily living (ADLs), financial management, transportation, and other essential areas. Sessions are scheduled according to our monthly calendar, which is shared with departments each month.

Eligibility:

  • Adults with disabilities, ages 22+ who receive DDS funding for vocational services.
  • Strong desire to work & demonstrate the potential for competitive employment.
  • Reside in Eastern CT with access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to transition into the Independent Supported Employment program following completion of the 16-week Cycle (i.e. able to work independently, with minimal staff support).
