The VET Pathways program prepares individuals for employment while building greater independence. Participants develop essential skills like resume writing, interviewing, and maintaining a job, alongside practical life skills such as daily living, financial management, and transportation. Through hands-on experiences, individuals explore a variety of career options and discover pathways that align with their interests, strengths, and goals.

Employment Pathways Offered

Participants will rotate through six career-focused pathways:

  • Culinary

  • Maintenance

  • Clerical

  • Retail

  • Hospitality

  • Manufacturing / Production

Program Details

  • Program Start Date: March 2, 2026

  • Location: Mahoney Recreation Center, Manchester, CT

  • Group Size: Varies depending on individual's needs. 

  • Selection: Participants are chosen through an assessment process.

  • Pathway Length: Each pathway runs 8 weeks.

Eligibility:

  • Adults with disabilities, ages 22+ who receive DDS funding for vocational services.
  • Strong desire to work & demonstrate the potential for competitive employment.
  • Reside in Eastern CT with access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to transition into the Independent Supported Employment program following completion of the 16-week Cycle (i.e. able to work independently, with minimal staff support).
